At the end of 2007 the band won the provincial rock competition Westtalent. A few months later they won Humo's Rock Rally 2008. This made them the youngest winners ever. Immediately after their win, Steak Number Eight released her demo album When The Candle Dies Out out. The Rock Rally victory and all the positive reviews of their CD immediately resulted in performances at major festivals.

 

In 2011 came All is Chaosout and astonished friend and foe. A great album with the now classic song "Dickhead"No fewer than 65,000 copies were distributed worldwide. In 2013 came their new album The Hutch to life with the fantastic number  “black-eyed”. And two years later it was cosmokomawho left great traces with fans & music lovers.

 

De band speelde onder meer op Marktrock, Dour Festival, Polsslag, Graspop Metal Meeting,_cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_Pukkelpop, Hellfest and Wacken. Daarnaast stond de band in het voorprogramma van onder andere Pelican, Deftones en And So I Watch You From Afar . In addition, the band has toured with none other than The Dillinger Escpape Plan, Prong, Deftones and Mastodon.

And yet in 2018 the message came out that Steak Number Eight was coming to an end. An emotional chapter was closed with this, because during the last 2 concerts at the end of 2018 (which were sold out within a few minutes with 2400 tickets) it only became clear at the very end that this would not be an end, but a new beginning. The wordSTAKE  was on display for several minutes and the audience (including Stefanie and Paul) was in ecstasy. While enjoying towering goosebumps, we all witnessed a new chapter, STAKE!

 

With the original line-up they are back in 2019 under a new name and produce are hyper atmospheric grunge coreor maybePost Metal oriented melodic Sludge. Go see the band live and experience the raw, unpolished songs. An explosive live band that you have to see to understand.
